Welcome to the Primordial Radio Podcast! Today, Moose is poetically flying solo as he discusses episode 500, looking back at where Primordial began in January 2017 and how much has changed along the way.
In this episode, Moose revisits the very first podcast, from the original vision of building a listener-controlled rock and metal service to the slightly optimistic idea of combining Spotify, Tinder and radio into one glorious Primordial community.
With the benefit of nine years and 500 episodes, Moose reflects on what actually worked, what didn’t, and how our definition of success has changed. The technology and business never quite became what we imagined, but something much more important grew instead: a genuine community, with friendships, gatherings and a sense of belonging that couldn’t have been written into any business plan.
Moose also looks at where Primordial goes next, including changes to the podcast, bringing more voices onto the radio, keeping a much closer eye on costs and continuing to grow sustainably. Mistakes were made, tough decisions were made, there were instances when quitting would have been the easier option, but one thing that hasn’t changed from episode one is that we still believe in what Primordial is, and none of it would be possible without you.
Thank you for being with us for 500 episodes.
