The Kris Barras Band, known for their invigorating hard rock style, are currently sitting at No.4 in the mid-weeks of the Official UK Album Charts for their new album ‘Halo Effect’ out now via Earache Records.
Halo Effect Influences
Halo Effect was recorded at Vada Recording Studios in Worcestershire and co-produced by Kris Barras, speaking about the album, Kris states:
There is a strong rock & metal influence throughout the album and there’s also some progressive elements with some odd time riffs and experimental midsections. There are even some melodies and production ideas not dissimilar to what a lot of the modern metalcore bands are doing. Musically, this album is a lot more riff- and groove-based. ‘Halo Effect’ still keeps the essence of what Kris Barras Band is: big riffs and even bigger choruses. It’s just that, this time, we’ve turned everything up to 11 and beefed it up!
Primordial General Mayhem
Primordial Radio is hugely excited to announce the return of the Primordial General Mayhem 2024 with dynamic and hard-hitting five-piece retro-rockers THE TREATMENT headlining the Friday night.
Fresh from their massively successful tour with Buckcherry, they are set to deliver an electrifying performance with one of their biggest-ever headline shows to date. Joining them are the Brighton-based punk-rock aficionados THE BAR STOOL PREACHERS, alongside energetic South Wales rockers JAMES & THE COLD GUN and hard rock sensations FURY, who made a remarkable impression last year by drawing an overwhelming crowd to the festival’s smaller stage.

Kris Barras Saves The PGM
If you attended the Primordial General Mayhem in 2022, you will remember just how close we were to having to cancel the festival. One week before the event, disaster struck as both of our headlining acts announced they had to pull out due to sickness and injury, leaving the PGM on the precipice of disintegrating.
Yet, as fortune would appear, we were saved by both Florence Black and Kris Barras who not only stepped up to the challenge; but exceeded all of our expectations.
The PGM went ahead as planned and had everyone bouncing throughout the entire weekend with both bands winning over a ton of new fans in the Primordial community and forever being a part of our shared history and story.
Riding High In The Charts
Halo Effect, builds on their previous work, offering a heavier sound compared to their last album Death Valley Paradise which achieved a Top 30 spot in the UK Album Chart. Halo Effect offers fans impactful riffs, compelling choruses, and technically impressive solos to boot.
Remarkably they are currently battling it out against the likes of Beyonce, Linkin Park and James.
To help support Kris Barras and rock music breaking into the charts, you can download the album starting at £4.99 from all major platforms here.
