Bloodstock Festival has expressed disapproval of this activity, leading to the implementation of stricter security measures. These included emphasizing safety precautions, confiscating bins, and even attempting to secure them with chains. However, these efforts proved ineffective, as bin jousting continued undeterred.

The participants, known as Midgarders, remained relentless and proud, transforming this activity into a tradition and an integral part of Bloodstock’s history. The saying goes, “if you can’t beat them, join them!” Embracing this sentiment, Bloodstock has officially announced the inclusion of bin jousting in this year’s event.

The festival organizers pose the question: “Are you brave enough to participate?” While there will be a marshal present to ensure safety, the true essence and rawness of Bloodstock’s new official sport will remain intact.

The festival challenges attendees, asking, “Do you possess the skills and determination to become the champion of 2024?” This official recognition of bin jousting marks a significant shift, turning a once frowned-upon activity into a celebrated part of the festival’s unique culture.

Standard weekend tickets for Bloodstock Festival are currently on sale here, priced at £185 plus a booking fee. These tickets can be purchased from the 2024 ticket store. In addition to standard weekend tickets, the festival offers limited day tickets and child tickets, with children under 4 years of age (referred to as “mini moshers”) admitted free of charge.
