Multinational trio Calva Louise has released their new song, “Lo Que Vale,” accompanied by an official music video.
The track incorporates frontwoman Jess Allanic’s native Spanish language, beginning with a soft and understated tone before shifting as Allanic screams and rages throughout the chorus.
The music video includes English subtitles, translating the band’s exploration of questions surrounding power dynamics in the world and the role of individuals.

Instrumentally, the song draws from a variety of global influences, from pop-rock melodies, Spanish classical guitar, and elements of Nordic metal.
“Lo Que Vale” is the fifth single from Calva Louise’s upcoming album Edge of The Abyss, which is scheduled for release on July 11 via Mascot Records. The video was directed by Jess Allanic.

Speaking about the track, Calva Louise states:
Lo Que Vale deals with the honest confusion and contradiction of our personal perception: when we think we understand something, we might actually be getting it wrong, and when everything seems upside down, maybe that’s when it is not… These honest exchanges in life act as triggers for letting go of the attachments that keep us chained to our mundane delusions. And while looking to break free of the irrelevant and continuous patterns that keep us stuck in one place, confusion builds up to the point of asking oneself if we’re really appreciating what is worth living for.
Calva Louise performed live at the Primordial General Mayhem 2024 and we can confirm they’re an absolutely must see live band.
