Last night at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Billie Eilish was joined onstage by none other than Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. Together they performed an acoustic duet of “My Hero” to honour their recently fallen drummer Taylor Hawkins who passed away earlier this year.
The tribute was especially meaningful for both fans and members of the band due to its recent recognition during Eilish’s performance of the song at her Grammy Award show where she wore a t-shirt featuring his image on it – a moment which deeply touched Grohl as he spoke about when watching from home with fellow bandmates.
On March 25th, 2022 the world of rock was shaken to its core when the news was announced of the tragic passing of Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins, he tragically died whilst on tour with Foo Fighters on the South American leg of a world tour.
In a statement shortly after the news was announced, Foo Fighters stated:
The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins.
His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.
Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.
