Today is a rather important date on the calendar (check you Primordial calendar – see its right there)…
That’s right Fam it’s International Women’s Day and we simply couldn’t let the day pass by without taking the opportunity to celebrate all the wonderful ladies in our lives… our family members, friends, fellow Fam members, inspiring female icons from the world of rock and metal.
You get the idea so grab yourself a brew and have a nosey through some of the fabulous stories below that we have gathered together from the Fam…
This content is also going out with our community newsletter aka Famail. If you aren’t already signed up this gives you a flavour of what you should expect and you should definitely consider getting yourself signed up. (you need to be a PR member as well – exclusive member content don’t you know!)
Don’t forget to also tune in today as throughout the day our lady presenters/ wenches and behind the scenes team have pulled together some songs that they think you should hear. So keep your ears peeled and enjoy!
Before we get to our wonder women just a few other things to flag…
- Bex will be on Caught in a Mash on Wednesday 10 March checking out our beer specially chosen for IWD.
- Quite aptly today we launch our latest PRFam designed merch from our very own Vikki Colden. You can check it out on the #prfam designed merch store NOW !
- Something, something #SamTag bangers on 12 March… maybe, perhaps… we’ll see!
It’s a man’s world… *Hums rest of song*
Bex isn’t just the co-presenter and sidekick of Dewsbury on Bubbles Brunch with Bex ya know! She also has an awesome day job which you should definitely read all about in her inspiring story right here… Go Bex!
Women, girls, allies; keep going!
Jilly was first in with her thoughts on IWD and we are so glad to share what she had to say. This last 12 months have really highlighted the fact that while we sometimes assume we live in a society of equals, the pandemic has really highlighted why there is still a long way to go…
Short and sweet
Zowie is becoming a bit of a regular in Famail and we think that is ace. Here is a little dedication to the most important lady in her life. Her mumma.
Find out what IWD means to me
Roz wasn’t entirely sure what IWD means to her but she loves being a woman (editor note – I concur) and she wanted to tell us all about why her sister is her inspiration.
Why I’m THAT difficult woman
Janine describes herself as (deep breath… long list… go) a goth, metaller, steampunk, feminist, historian, dyslexic, former teacher, chill vegan, lefty liberal type and owned by ferrets… She shares her thoughts on IWD, her fascinating job and her female idol.
A chance to high five all the ladies!
Rachel’s story is all about the gals of the music world and more importantly the fantastic ones that are part of our wonderful Fam! What’s that about sipping girlie green beverages at Tom’s Tap soon?! Sign us up.
And don’t forget – it’s Mother’s day on 14th Mqrch !
