Lamb Of God have revealed they will be releasing their new album “Into Oblivion” on March 13th 2026, alongside a new music video for the title track. Heading up the production duties is Josh Wilbur, a trusted pair of hands who has worked on every album with Lamb Of God since 2009’s “Wrath”.

Familiarity can often breed contempt, but with this new album and single, Lamb Of God are once again looking to blend their punk ethos with the unity of metal.

Living In A Dystopian World

Formed in Richmond, Virginia, in the mid 1990s, Lamb Of God grew from the American underground into one of modern metal’s most defining forces. Albums such as As the Palaces Burn, Ashes of the Wake, and Sacrament positioned them as political commentators with teeth, a difficult tightrope to walk as a metal band, who will often be told to just “Stick To Music”.

Lyrically, “Into Oblivion” frames its narrator as an unavoidable presence; “I am the chaos, I am the voice you can’t unhear” and “I am the bringer of the truth from which you run” all point to a dark force that exists whether society wants to acknowledge it or not.

Guitarist Mark Morton explains the meaning behind the album:

For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation. It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.

Vocalist Randy Blythe adds about the album’s title and themes:

Because that’s where we’re heading (Into Oblivion). In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.

“Into Oblivion” isn’t some sort of abstract monster hiding in the shadows; it’s the collective consequence of societal denial, fear and anxiety that have now become mainstream in our daily lives.

What Into Oblivion Ultimately Confronts

The meaning behind Lamb Of God’s “Into Oblivion” is not masked behind some deep meaning metaphor; true to their punk rock roots, the song warns that collapse doesn’t arrive suddenly, it advances slowly and steadily while we look away, as people convince themselves it’s someone else’s problem.

Having survived numerous trends, backlash, and industry shifts, “Into Oblivion” is Lamb Of God holding a mirror up to the world, with the reflection appearing darker with every passing day.
