In a new interview with Primordial Radio, Cage Fight front-woman Rachel Aspe spoke to Adam Whalley as part of the Radio Residency about how she nearly became the new singer of Fear Factory.
Adam Whalley: What could you guys have been doing if your first demo hadn’t worked and you didn’t wanna work on it? Rachel, I know that you were looking for other musical projects…
Rachel Aspe: There were a lot of fails and before Cage Fight, about the same time there was Fear Factory, Dino (Cazares) messaged me saying, would you like to try a song for Fear Factory?
So I tried and said, but the thing is I’m not looking to do clean singing. I tried, he then shared the song to try and see if people liked it.
Rachel Aspe: Then Cage Fight came so I just insisted no not at all because I made my choice in that I wanted to be in a new project.
James Monteith: What’s quite funny is as a massive teenage fanboy of Fear Factory, the Demanufacture and Obsolete albums in particular. I was mildly starstruck that Rach could be in Fear Factory, I was like wow!
