It has been a few years since the last standalone Ozzfest, which took place on New Year’s Eve in 2018. However, founder Sharon Osbourne has not ruled out the possibility of bringing it back.
In the most recent episode of The Osbournes Podcast, the legendary heavy metal family discusses various festivals, including Coachella, which Jack, Kelly, and Sharon are not interested in attending anymore. They also talk about Stagecoach, which they believe is currently the best festival out there, as well as their own iconic Ozzfest.
Ozzfest To Return?
During the conversation, Sharon’s husband, the Prince of Darkness himself, asks her if she would consider organizing another Ozzfest as a touring event. Her response is brief but positive: “Yeah, sure. Of course.”
However, this leads to a broader discussion about the financial challenges involved in putting everything together. Sharon questions why people assume that they are incredibly wealthy and expect them to fund the festival with their supposed trillions.
Jack points out that many festivals in the past year or two have adopted a similar model to Ozzfest. Sharon adds that it’s great to see the genre thriving because they started something that others have embraced and continued.
