Premiere Time
To hear the premiere, simply tune into Primordial Radio at 15:00 (GMT) with Dewsbury on Monday 15th January, 2024.
Forming in 2019, South Of Salem’s brief history is already impressive, building legions of fans even at this early stage. Death Of The Party is set to raise the stakes even higher, delivering an explosive blend of hard rock that encompasses the essence of classic heavy metal, 80s sleaze, and horror. Drawing influences from bands like Murderdolls and Avenged Sevenfold, this album pushes boundaries and goes beyond expectations.
Produced by the Grammy-nominated Romesh Dodangoda, known for his work with Bring Me The Horizon and Twin Atlantic, Death Of The Party is a monumental record that captivates with its anthemic, dark, punchy, and powerful sound. The first single, ‘Left For Dead’, showcases the band’s metallic-edged floorfiller style (watch here), leaving no doubt that South Of Salem means business.
South Of Salem draws inspiration from a diverse range of rock legends such as Alice Cooper, Guns N’ Roses, Zakk Wylde, and Murderdolls, infusing their music with a unique twist of horror. Vocalist Joey’s passion for horror movies is evident through his extensive collection of over 2000 DVDs and VHSs. Additionally, he showcases his creativity by writing spooky children’s books, with four already published.
Guitarist Denis, a devoted fan of Zakk Wylde, has even had the opportunity to work as a roadie for the legendary musician. His love for vinyl is evident in his collection, with his most prized possession being a factory-sealed Type O Negative test-press of Origin Of The Feces, complete with a scratch and sniff peel-away sticker. South Of Salem is a band that takes their craft seriously and is here to make their mark in the world of rock.
