Since their establishment in 2014, These Wicked Rivers have emerged as a significant player in the burgeoning rock and roll scene in the United Kingdom. Originating from Derby, the band has been gaining recognition for their innovative fusion of classic rock and blues elements, creating a unique sound that has garnered acclaim and a growing fanbase.
Now the band has recently released their new single ‘The Riverboat Man’ (Listen Below) as part of their forthcoming album ‘Force Of Nature’. Scheduled for release on March 1st via Fat Earth Records, the album promises to showcase the band’s evolving sound and energy. The single, which is already available, has been described as a “barnstorming tale” that celebrates the underdog spirit and champions individuality.
These Wicked Rivers Push The Boundaries
John Hartwell, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, commented on ‘The Riverboat Man’: “On the surface it’s a story but, as always, it goes much deeper than that. Rich in metaphor, it explores the darkness and light within us all. It’s a blast to play live and it’s been great to see such positive audience reactions to it at our recent shows.”
John Hartwell shared his perspective on ‘Force Of Nature’:
Primordial General Mayhem
Primordial Radio is hugely excited to announce the return of the Primordial General Mayhem 2024 with dynamic and hard-hitting five-piece retro-rockers THE TREATMENT headlining the Friday night.
Fresh from their massively successful tour with Buckcherry, they are set to deliver an electrifying performance with one of their biggest-ever headline shows to date. Joining them are the Brighton-based punk-rock aficionados THE BAR STOOL PREACHERS, alongside energetic South Wales rockers JAMES & THE COLD GUN and hard rock sensations FURY, who made a remarkable impression last year by drawing an overwhelming crowd to the festival’s smaller stage.

“To me, this song is almost like a pep talk to myself, or to whoever’s listening, saying “You can do this”. It’s about not living in the past, regretting things that you can’t change, but moving on, moving forward and taking on the world because you are a force of nature!”
Guitarist Arran Day adds: “Anyone that’s caught a live show this year will know the power this song has. It’s become a staple of how we open a ‘Rivers show as it showcases everything we do as a band. It encapsulates that feeling of when we step out on stage and see the ‘Rivers family looking back at us, ready to collectively blow the roof off whatever venue our chapel is for that evening.
“We were really passionate that we wanted the album recordings to express that power and connection that we all feel when we play live, and this is one of the highlights of that. Make sure to listen to it loud, as if you’re standing at the front row of a show”.
