Primordial Radio is excited to announce that deathcore giants Lorna Shore are taking part in the Radio Residency for the month of September.

Across the Residency, vocalist Will Ramos joins Adam Whalley to discuss the band’s new album, I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me, vocal techniques and musical influences.

Will reveals how the band poured everything into its creation, layering technical songwriting, orchestral ambition, and raw emotion. He also dives into the band’s detailed writing process, from initial demos to his own “vocal prison” sessions, and building the Lorna Shore sound that’s become a modern metal benchmark.

Will also speaks about early influences like In Flames and Rage Against the Machine, his deep admiration for Sleep Token, and the personal journey of finding vulnerability in music. He also curates his dream festival lineup and shares what fans can expect from the new record, describing it as “The Best Version of Lorna Shore to date”.

Call them “heroes” or “hell-bringers,” it doesn’t matter to the members of Lorna Shore. On their fifth album, I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me, the New Jersey quintet deliver a collection that spans multiple metal subgenres.

The 10 tracks on the album are layered in approach. Andrew O’Connor’s orchestral arrangements provide an epic, cinematic backdrop, creating a mise-en-scene for listeners. Additional contributions from the other members intensify the sound further. Guitarist Adam De Micco incorporates rapid black-metal techniques alongside phrasing reminiscent of 1970s guitar work. Vocalist Will Ramos employs a style that draws comparisons to Faith No More’s Mike Patton.

Drummer Austin Archey and bassist Michael Yager contribute to what has been described as a propulsive and relentless foundation. While rooted in deathcore and black metal, elements of I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me also reflect progressive rock influences, with grandiose arrangements and an emphasis on extremity. The album has been noted for challenging conventions and expanding the boundaries of modern metal.
