Enter Shikari have announced a run UK residency shows in support of their long-awaited new album, A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on April 21st.

To accompany this release and celebrate it in style, they are also performing a series of special shows across the UK throughout spring called ‘Monthly Residencies’. Fans who purchase limited formats of Enter Shikari’s new album will get an extra bonus too – Live From Alexandra Palace 3 full concert DVD/Album.

Enter Shikari posed an interesting question three years ago: “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” Not even they could have predicted how fitting that query would become with the events of 2020.

In hindsight, frontman Rou Reynolds reflects on what it felt like for him and his bandmates as if their own musical career was coming to its own conclusion.

At the time it felt like we ourselves, as musicians, were experiencing the death of our band, says lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds.

After two years of silence, Enter Shikari returned with a bang as they headlined the Download Festival Pilot in front of 10,000 fans. The experience reignited frontman Rou Reynolds’ passion for music and rekindled his longing for human connection – inspiring him to write an entire album that celebrates their collective power. It shone through on LP7 which marked not only four band members but hundreds of thousands around them joining forces together as one force – proving something big can be built from even small beginnings.

Enter Shikari 2.0 is ready to take us on a journey of freedom filled with bold beginnings. With their new single ‘(pls) set me on fire’, they present an invitation not as a question, but rather in the powerful form of a command: “Please set me on fire”. It’s time to ignite that spark within and join Enter Shikari for this exciting new chapter.

Reynolds comments on the single’s conception:

Honestly, I thought I was f*****. I’ve never felt so detached from my soul, my purpose, my f****** spirit. I didn’t write music for almost two years. The longest I’d gone before that was two weeks.

I was broken. It’s almost as if my brain had asked: What is the point in music if it cannot be shared? What is the point in writing music if it’s not to be experienced with others?” and then promptly switched itself off. ‘(pls) set me on fire’ grew out of that desperation.

This song is a projectile vomit of positive energy. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free.

Enter Shikari have also announced a run of very special album UK residency shows to take place through the Spring. Reynolds explains their thinking:

It’s hard to do anything interesting with live shows today. We wanted to do something different. We’re going to become a local band to five major cities in the UK. It’s going to be interesting to see how the shows evolve every time we return.
