South Wales’ King Kraken has created quite a stir since their formation in 2018. Influenced by Clutch, Mastodon and Black Sabbath this five-piece powerhouse of a band has been dominating the hard rock and metal scenes for years – even though they just got together not too long ago.
Setting the metal scene alight in South Wales, The Kraken’s debut rocked audiences with a combination of heavy riffs and melodic flair. Their four-track self-titled EP was released to match their incredible run that culminated in an exciting Bloodstock Metal to the Masses competition final where they earned huge plaudits for their heavy yet melodic riff-based style and confident approach.
After the world threw a curveball in 2020, Kraken regrouped and bounced back with their second record. Working with legendary producer Romesh Dodangoda (Motörhead, Bullet for My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon), they created an EP jam-packed full of hard rock ranging from heavy metal to more bluesy influences – something both old schoolers and modern fans will appreciate.
