Primordial Radio is proud to officially launch Up-Vote. The idea of up-vote is one of those great Primordial moments that has risen up from the community to become one of the central pillars of everything we do here at Primordial Radio.
Starting in January 2021, the very first Up-Vote was a countdown of the 100 most liked tracks of 2020, with Millie Manders & The Shutup grabbing the No.1 spot, a huge achievement for an unsigned independent artist.
Now with the addition of the Top-40 chart and Primordial Presents playlist, the Up-Vote has gone from a once a year event, to a weekly show with you having the opportunity to vote on the tracks we’re playing on the station 24/7, not just when the track is played on air.
Music Director, Pete Bailey – What a moment this is for us, this has been a LONG time in the making, but I couldn’t be prouder with what we are launching today. I would like to extend my eternal thanks and gratitude to the dev team, in particular, Chris Colden & Mark Bentley who have worked countless hours to bring us Up-Vote in such a seamless and user-friendly way.
This is a further commitment from us to support new music whilst putting the community at the heart of everything we do, we hope you enjoy it and look forward to continuing to develop Up-Vote further.
There are two categories for the Up-Vote pages, the Top-40 and Primordial Presents. The Top-40 is a weekly chart of the top-40 new songs on the Primordial Radio Playlist and Primordial Presents is the latest 100 new bands we have played on the station. Simply head to those pages to view chart positions and vote on your favourites.
To vote, you need to be an existing member of Primordial Radio or Sign Up. Voting buttons appear once you’re logged in, each member can vote on a track once, switch or remove their vote. Add songs to your favourites list by hitting the heart symbol, this list can then be accessed in My Account.
Updates to the Top-40 chart and Primordial Presents will come every Monday, with Pete Bailey revealing the new top 10 on-air every Monday at 18:00 and the new chart then being published in full at 19:00. You can also follow our New Rock & Metal and Primordial Presents playlists on Spotify to keep up to date and listen to the music.
We’re also very excited to announce that the Up-Vote 100 will be returning for 2021 and will be taking place on Saturday 29th January 2022, more details to come soon, all your votes between now and the end of the year can still affect who gets into the top 100!
